On Marketing

I had the same conversation recently with two separate people: a client regarding an upcoming listing and a homebuilder about their design philosophy and how they promote the homes they build.

As a marketer-->turned-->realtor (spoiler: they're one and the same), I've been really surprised to see many agents throw a property on the MLS and Zillow, pop a sign in the yard and then sit back to wait on it to sell.

I love every step of promoting and proactively seeking the perfect buyer for a home or land... just like for a product or brand. From assessing the competition to leveraging our company's global network and marketing resources to using the right social and email tactics to some old-fashioned guerrilla marketing, it feels like putting a puzzle together... and that's what I have always loved about sales and marketing. 

And despite the leap to real estate, I still have friends and contacts reach out for marketing help... and I hope that never stops. I've found that saying yes and sharing my energy, ideas and support without expecting or asking for a direct return always - 💯 of the time - results in returns I never could have fathomed.

So if you want to talk marketing or real estate (or wine), I'm your gal!

And don't ever let anyone tell you that sharing your ideas generously and helping others without expectation of payment or return won't pay off in the long run.
